Dragoon, Arizona Rest Area

On the east side of Arizona on I-10, there is a rest area in Dragoon, Arizona. There is a rest area on both the north side and south side, so no matter whether you are headed east or west, you will be able to stop. The scenery is fantastic, and at sunrise or sunset it is a beautiful experience. In these mountains, among these rocks, is where both Cochise and Geronimo made their last stand for freedom. It is here that they were gradually captured and sent to reservations (as prisoners.) Information on their history, as well as local history and tourist attractions, can be found in the rest areas.
